The City of Battle Ground, Washington is a small rural, growing town in the Cascade foothills.  It's located centrally to Clark County, Washington and NE of Vancouver, Washington. Nowhere in Clark County is more than about 25 minutes away, which includes the Portland airport (PDX). Downtown Portland, Oregon is about 35 minutes away.

It's named after a battle that never happened in 1855 between Capt. Strong from Fort Vancouver (still standing) and Chief Umtuch of the Klickitat Indians. For his 'bravery & courage' he was awarded a petticoat and the area became known as 'Strong's Battle Ground'.
